The Museographical study for the re exhibition of the Heraklion Archaeological Museum was based on the Presentation of the cultural wealth of the Museum (clear presentation of the number of archaeological finds, over 10.000 exhibits), with proper placing of the projected objects and neat path of the visitor through the historical periods. The surrounding walls of the building becomes a sculptural wall for the exhibits with the 222 special exhibition showcases for the archaeological finds (individual or single parts of larger sets), self-luminous, air-tight and swinging, with various opening systems, systems equipped with active control of relative humidity and temperature.
